 My latest work is a novella, a steampunkish (steam power isn't widely in use just yet though it is being used for large industrial purposes, like pumping water out of mines) variation of the Old West. However, technology is advancing FAST, faster than anyone knows, in the Union, which is what the nascent United States is called in this timeline. Yes, it's an alternate world SF steampunkish sexual bondage erotic romance set in a variation of the Old West. Now, that's a NICHE!

(Actually, I'll call it historical erotica since that's an ACTUAL niche that really exists.)

The basic story is two friends who have just turned 18 go out for a night on the town in Parados in the Republic of Geronimo (think west Texas). Being adult women in a society where religion is pretty much just reverence for nature (and hence sex guilt tripping does not exist) and there's something called "slave medicine" that is a safe, sure, easy and effective method of birth control, they're both looking to get themselves collared and fucked.

Because of course in this alternative world everyone is also into maledom/femsub, basically master/slave sex.

I had so much fun fitting all this into a traditional Old West story. The best part was where I lifted a character from a classic Western comedy movie and put her in my story as is, though in a slightly different situation. (A hint: the movie is not "Blazing Saddles" but it is also a very funny movie that satirizes Western tropes very effectively.)

I also had fun inventing some bordello tech in a world without steam power.

I'm also very pleased at how the cover came out. It's basically two images that have been merged to form one. I spent hours looking for the right stuff on the commercial art site I use and found these gems. It wasn't luck, really, I took some deep dives into some rabbit holes on the site to find just the art I was looking for.

And the sex scenes were fun, too. I built toward the big sex scenes by including short sexy scenes in which Matty and Arlene meet various friends in town, including one in punishment stocks who's getting vigorously "punished" at the time (she's basically free use while in the stocks) one who's a pony girl, and one who's a slave whore with a tale to tell about how she became one. By the time Matty and Arlene get tied up and have their big sex scenes with their hunky Masters, they are, well, "hot and bothered" barely describes it!

Of course, I could be lying about all this. But I'm not. Read the book and find out... I dare you!

Collar Climax

Subspace is an interesting phenomenon. I don't think there's anything like it in vanilla relationships. I've read descriptions of it, and listened to them on Youtube as well, and the nearest analog that occurs to me is that they are like the high you can get from meditating, entering a psychological space that is very unlike normal consciousness, overwhelming, and conveys great calm and relaxation, despite the sort of things that are often done to subs in subspace.

Being a science fiction writer and all, I thought, “What if I turned this baby up to 11 and added other stuff besides?” And thus, the concept of Collar Climax was born. The idea is that when a woman in Collar World is collared and has absolutely mind-blowing sex, she sooner or later will enter Collar Climax while she is having said mind-blowing sex. Collar Climax is a variant of subspace in which the sub experiences a great sense of joy and peace and stillness in their mind, as well as a sense of total acceptance. They have accepted their collar, their owner, and their place in the world, and found great joy in all three. The experience does not go away ... ever, necessarily. That joy and stillness remains within them and makes them calmer, saner people.

Most women on Collar World experience a Collar Climax, which has had the effect of raising the collective IQ of Collar World, because although Collar Climax does not directly affect intelligence, by making the women who experience it saner, hence giving them greater access to whatever intelligence they have, it amplifies the effect of intelligence, which may be more useful for them and the society they live in than a simple intelligence boost. Let's face it, in our world there are an awful lot of very intelligent people who are so crippled by depression and other mental illnesses that they can't really use their intelligence.

Collar Climax subs are more effective human beings, and in the early days when they were slaves in fact, it made them greatly sought after as advisors, and gave Collar World a leg up technologically and most especially socially. Society became more egalitarian, warfare ended, and other good things happened over time.

Of course, Collar Climax is a totally made up thing, except of course that mental health really is a good thing and more of it would undoubtedly make for a better world, made up or otherwise. Especially among the leadership, who so often seem to be psychopaths here on Incel World.

Story ideas are easy. Figuring out which ones are worth writing up is hard. And nascent ideas like this, they sometimes are converted into scenes in longer works. This is one of the chief pleasures of writing, of looking at the world as a source of inspiration rather than just a series of occurrences.

The Prop Master Soars Into The Desert Air

Now, as for the goodies, I wrote a huge, all-in, bang-up, balls to the walls and tits to the floor sexual bondage scene between the protagonists of The Prop Master. My goal was to write a sexual bondage scene so compelling that anyone reading the book who was vanilla would finish it, throw the book to the floor and yell, "I have GOT to try that!"

Not that I care if anyone gets "converted" from vanilla to kinky by the scene, I just wanted to write a scene that shows how very, very good maledom/femsub sexual bondage between two lovers can be. I don't know if I nailed it -- that'll be for my readers to say -- but by damn I sure tried.
