Crosstime Sex Slave: The Underpinnings

"Crosstime Sex Slave" is now on sale on Smashwords. Just $2.99 for this 25,000 word novella!

I wrote Crosstime Sex Slave with the intention of creating a platform for writing short stories, novelettes and novellas with sexual bondage rape scenes. It seemed simple enough. And I think I did a great job. Too good of a job in fact.

So I invented the planet Gork, which if you think it looks just like Gor with a “k” added, you’re a very suspicious person. Gork is not Gor however, except for being a totally sexist slaveholding culture. But Gork is technologically advance, not just beyond Gor, which, let’s admit it, is a VERY low bar, but also beyond Earth and even beyond Collar World, which IS saying something.

The Gorks have crosstime technology that allows them to travel between alternate timelines, and they use it to raid other timelines for comely young female sex slaves, which are the best for cishet males in a depraved slaveholding culture.

In addition, the Gorks have advanced medical nanotech that allows them to take over and control the nervous systems of their captives, making them willing and able to do whatever they are told.

They also have medical tech that lets the local slaves live for 200 years, looking young and healthy and beautiful for 195 of those years.

And the slavegirls spend most of those 195 years of beauty having sex with whoever fucks them, without any choice at all about who it is or what kind of sex it is.

You’d think this would make them all grumpy and unhappy, or to be more realistic, angry and murderous/suicidal. However, the nanotech implants in the slaves’ nervous systems keep them feeling relaxed and happy about whatever is done to them, and whatever they do. It’s a truly fiendish thing. The slaves are not even allowed to be upset by their situation. They literally CAN’T be upset. If you ordered one to crawl into a wood chipper they’d happily, relaxedly do it. Until they got chopped up.

The implants also include oral clits and anal clits and a generally juiced-up (so to speak) response to any sexual activity. Sex is overwhelmingly powerful for them as well, and orgasms are multiple by default.

And the progress of the story is the protagonist discovering all these features during her time on Gork.

And all of this is set up in the beginning of the story, so no real spoilers here. Because there’s some twists and turns to the story, and you’ll just have to read it to learn it.

Anyway, that’s why the cover and promotional art features naked women wearing big happy grins, surrounded by drunken college students. It’s an accurate image of what goes on! But what is going on is still fiendish.

The Visitor to Incel World Is Now Free On Amazon Through May 15

Get It For Free At This Link

It's an alternate world science fiction novel, I'm making it a free promo for a few days, hopefully it will draw readers to the sequel, "The Love Invasion" in which one alternate world attempts to stave off war with another. Here's da blurb on "The Visitor From Incel World:"

Ariana Heppelwhite was a promising Gender Studies grad student at Lacy Swanson College for Women in Bayport, Massachusetts. She had actually written a paper describing three hitherto unknown forms of nanoaggression! She was on track for getting a professorship and a actual job with a real salary and all the perks, maybe even tenure eventually.

Ariana had even met an unexpectedly charming incel (a phrase she had never expected to think, much less say) while doing research on incels for a grant she had. Sure, she'd done some nasty academic infighting that had an athletic department coach looking for her scalp over a transmale gaze incident, but overall, things were coming up roses for Ariana.

Then it happened. Ariana got caught in a freak physics accident while running from the gym coach, and was transported to an alternate world. And it was the exact WRONG world for a Gender Studies feminist to be transported to. It was full of women who walked around naked in public and wore collars engraved with “Property of (their significant other)” and who LOVED their collars -- and who seemed to think Ariana was a barbarian from a violent place.

And the thing was, they were all nice people, and calm people, and they just might be right about Ariana. Even more of a thing was that some not-so-nice Collar Land people thought Ariana's world represented such a threat that they should kill her for security reasons.

Will Ariana ever make it back to good old Earth from Collar Land? Will she learn to adjust to these very strange people or will she subvert their entire society? Will the not-nice people kill her? And what about that unexpectedly charming incel?

All these questions and more will be answered -- all you have to do is read this topnotch science fiction comedy!

"Earth: The Love Invasion" Now Available on Amazon

Link to "Earth: The Love Invasion"

(Barry Anderson is a pen name I use to write non-erotic science fiction so as not to disappoint my erotica readers. I want to disappoint a NEW group of readers, thankyewverymuch. Not that everybody won't enjoy this book!)

“Earth: The Love Invasion” is a sequel to “The Visitor From Incel World” but can easily be read as a standalone as it has just two characters carried forward from the previous book, neither of whom is the main character in either book. (Doctor Tammy Frisbie and CIA Agent June Smoringe, for the record.)

What I wanted to do in “Love Invasion” is create a modern update on the pulpy SF alien invasion stories of the 1950s and 60s. You can't really recreate those stories, because they had the cultural energy caused by the Cold War and the McCarthyite Red Scare going to add depth and scariness to the stories. (With Red Scare, we're talking about the 1950s-60s era of politically and culturally conservative hysteria about secret communist spies everywhere, not the podcast, an entirely different thing.)

But right now we have another source of energy to drive the story, as the world slides into Crapsack World status thanks to the inspired leadership of the United States of America. And as I wrote the story, I tried to keep in mind the horrified expression a peaceful human race that has conquered violence and aggression would have as they looked at the prospect of visitors from our wonderful, wonderful world.

And although “Love Invasion” isn't erotica, it's still deals with a world of kinky people. Although there are no explicit sex scenes, there are sex scenes, mostly played for laughs. Kinky fun will be had, just not explicit kinky fun.

And the kink theme of Collar World gives me an excellent change to present vanilla sexuality from a kinkster's view, except of course the Collar World kinksters are not aware of themselves as kinksters, coming from a world of kinksters. They just think the vanilla folks of Earth are kind of strange, violent, twisted and very bad at sex.

I spent a lot of time figuratively rubbing my hands with glee as I wrote this story, yes I did. (I couldn't literally rub my hands with glee because I needed them for typing.) I hope readers will enjoy “Earth: The Love Invasion” as much as I have.

Two Great Books About Feminists On Alternate Worlds

So, I noticed that Annalee Newitz, one of the founders of IO9, has written a science fiction novel about feminists engaged in a war with misogynists over control of their timeline. Feminists on alternate worlds, gee, sounds familiar ... wonder where I've encountered that before? Oh, right, I just wrote a book with the exact same theme (though a very different approach).

Of course, Annalee Newitz is someone with a little name recognition, and her book is being published by a traditional publisher with all sorts of marketing clout, whereas I am an unknown outside a circle of deeply disturbed fans (Go, fans!) an indie publisher whose only marketing clout is his wits, which is to say, virtually none.

So I decided to emulate traditional publishers and hitch my wagon to a star! (I mean, really, I don't know HOW many publishers announced that THEIR darling's latest magnum opus romance with just barely enough kink to it to even be noticeable was "The Next Fifty Shades of Gray." But I know it was practically all of them.)

So here's my latest publicity effort for my books. Note that I am promoting Newitz's book, too. Just bein' a stand-up guy:

Have you read The Future of Another Timeline by Annalee Newitz? (Sadly, not available on KU) It's about a group of brave feminists at war misognyists to control their timeline, protecting womankind from a future that makes “The Handmaid's Tale” look like a picnic.
Want another book about feminists on alternate worlds? Try The Visitor From Incel World by Barry Anderson, which is totally available on KU!
Thanks to Barry Anderson, you don't have to wait for Ms. Newitz to get around to writing a sequel. In “The Visitor From Incel World,” Ariana Heppelwhite, a gender studies grad student at Lacy Swanson Women's College, is caught in the aftermath of a physics experiment gone wrong and catapulted into another world, which she names Collar World because all the women in it run around naked except for their collars. And their cuffs. And their shackles.
Ariana finds this an alarming sort of world, and a confusing world. And the inhabitants feel the same way about her, with her tales of crazed incel rapist wannabes everywhere and child armies and constant warfare and sex and money being intertwined. Earth, which they named Incel World in honor of its bizarre sexual practices, frightens them. They fear invasion by the barbaric hordes of Incel World, and some of them, being very logical, decide that they should kill Ariana so she can't return to Incel World and tell them about Collar World!
Will Ariana survive? Can she change Collar World by teaching the women of Collar World how great it is to be equals with men in all things? And what about the surprisingly appealing incel (a phrase she ever expected to use) she met back in Bayport?
Only one way to find out: get the book … it's free on Kindle Unlimited. And if you haven't read “The Future of Another Timeline by Newitz, get it, too. You can't have too much mind-bending SF.

Achieving Differentness That Has An Internal Logic Of Its Own

It seems like only yesterday t hat I asked readers of this blog or whatever the hell it is to think about what a society where women didn't get raped or sexually harassed any more often than they get eaten by alligators or sharks. And that's because it WAS only yesterday.

My feeling is that under such circumstances women would be a lot more open, relaxed and easygoing around men. That's because rape and sexual harassment wouldn't be a commonplace issue. Most women, even if they haven't been raped or sexually harassed, have close friends and/or relatives who have. They know it's out there, it can happen to them, very easily. That's why women are cautious around men in our culture, especially around men they don't know well. Women are always vetting men, because they HAVE to, for their own safety. Most men aren't inclined to rape or sexually harass women out of the blue, but enough men ARE inclined to do so, to cast a pall of suspicion on all the rest of men.

What if this were not the case, though? What if men simply were not interested in raping and sexually harassing women, in a society where birth control was safe, effective and readily available?

You know the answer, it's obvious. Women would be a lot more open and relaxed around men, more sexually open, too, and more sexually active. How open? It's hard to say, because nothing like this exists in any earth culture or subculture that I know of. Some subcultures are more sexually open than others – imagine the gulf of sexual expectations and experience between the child of a Hollywood movie star and the child of a poor Christian fundamentalist – but the widespread nature of sexual harassment and rape is like a wind that blows everywhere, no matter what the local weather.

I think though, that if women didn't have to worry about being assaulted, it would manifest itself at a very fundamental level, at the body language level. It would be kind of the way women act around their gay male friends, but with one important difference – there would always be the chance that she might wind up having sex with a straight male friend. The difference is, if she did, it would be consensual sex that she wanted, so a fun, positive experience.

Under these circumstances, straight women would think of straight men as being … like candy. A fun, good thing. The powerful effect of sexual desire would still be there to attract women to men as well. There would probably be a lot more of what we now call “promiscuity” but which would simply be normal sexual attraction acting in an atmosphere of safety and openness.

People from such a culture, if they were transplanted to Earth, would be noticeable. Their body language alone would give them away, without engaging in any promiscuous behavior at all.

Now let's think about the men from such a world. What would they be like? Suppose you knew, as a practical matter, that if you want to get laid you can do so easily, anytime, without spending a lot of money or going to a lot of effort. You could go out to a bar or nightclub and meet a woman who wanted to have sex as much as you did, one among many such women. How would that change things? How would you feel if a woman from our current world were to come along and just assume you were sex-starved and would rape her if you had the chance?

You'd feel insulted. Why would you rape this woman when you could fuck a woman who liked you and you liked, very easily? You're not some damn scummy rapist, you're a fun, sexy guy, all the girls you hang out with think so. You like women. Why would a woman assume such a thing about you? Yeah, it's insulting, makes you feel like less of man than you are. Your response to such a woman would probably be massive disinterest. Why would you want to put up with that shit?

Men from such a world would be noticeably different from Earth men, too. Much less … anxious, as it were.

So that's how I write the characters from Collar World. When Ariana Hufflepuff comes to Collar World and accuses people of wanting to rape her, there is much rolling of eyes. No one wants to have sex with her, much less rape her, because she's clearly got mental problems, from their point of view.

Thought experiments like this are what makes alternate world stories interesting to me. I try to create a real culture that has believable people in it that are just different from us, because their background is different from ours. That allows me to write stories that have punch, and that surprise readers with their differentness, but a differentness that somehow makes sense, that has an internal logic of its own. That's the goal, anyway.

How Incel World Got Its Name

“Incel World” is what the inhabitants of an alternate world timeline call our world in my book “The Visitor from Incel World.” It's the story of a gender studies grad student who gets caught in an accident at a physics lab and winds up transported to an alternate timeline.

The inhabitants of that timeline call it “Earth” but to us, it's known as “Collar World” due to all the women there being willing sex slaves to the men. Basically, most people in Collar World are into BDSM, specifically, the maledom/femsub variety. There are dominant women and submissive men and gay and lesbian pairings as well, and they are accepted, they're just less common than the hetero maledom/femsub pairings.

In fact, most young adults don't pair up early, they spend years engaging in the “free use” lifestyle, which involves lots of promiscuous sex, called a free-use collar, because women engaged in it wear a “free use” collar that encourages others to have sex with them.

Now, incels don't dominate our world the way collaring dominates Collar World. We got the moniker “Incel World” because the Visitor from Incel World, one Ariana Hufflepuff, was a gender studies major and hence more focused on incels than most people are. Her descriptions of incels made them seem more important to our world than they really are, and more dangerous, too.

And in a world where near-universal promiscuity among young adults is the accepted norm, the whole Incel phenomenon would seem a lot more strange and exotic than it does to us, and it does seem strange and exotic to many of us. It's an inaccurate name that kind of stuck, in part because, even though it's inaccurate, it does express the uneasiness that Collar World residents have for Incel World residents.

(The official designation of our world on Collar World is Earth 2. The official designation of Collar World on our world is Earth 2. It's a rare case of the official designation being a lot more confusing than the unofficial designation, and another reason everyone uses the unofficial desiginations.)

The people on Collar World, a pragmatic matriarchy that hasn't experienced war in centuries, regard the people on Incel World as violent, sexually starved (and often physically starved) rapists and murderers, thanks to Ariana's vivid (and distressingly accurate) descriptions of our world. I can't say I blame them!

There's a lot of fun to be had via misunderstandings when you are dealing with alternate world themes.
